ABOUT ROBERTA

Roberta Rubin Greenberg, RN, CNOR, RNFA*, has been working in the field of Neurosurgery for more than 20 years, and specializing in Movement Disorders and their surgery for more than 13 years. She has been on staff of some of the most progressive neurosurgical centers in the country, including New England Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute and Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and has been instrumental in creating movement disorder surgery programs at each of them.
•Through Feb. 2006, Roberta was clinical supervisor and head nurse at California Neuroscience Institute, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA. At this center, she created a unique “perioperative” approach to DBS patient care, where one nurse is assigned to each patient for the whole experience ... before, during, and after surgery. This allows for a high level of communication and bonding between patient and nurse, and results in a greater outcome satisfaction for both patient and nurse.
•In 2005, Roberta also joined the WeMove faculty for the DBS-STN Discussion Forum. Among her other professional credits, she regularly contributes expert advice to online DBS forums at Yahoo and DBS-STN (see links to join these groups) and provides consulting and training services to DBS centers nationwide.
In December 2006, Roberta became the Movement Disorders Coordinator at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA.
Roberta is once again doing DBS programming at the offices of Liliana Cohen, MD and Neuron Medical Corp. in Thousand Oaks, CA. Click here for appointments.

*RN: Registered Nurse; CNOR: Certified Nurse in the Operating Room; RNFA: Registered Nurse First Assistant. These are advanced certifications that required additional training.
