ABOUT ROBERTA

Roberta Rubin Greenberg, RN, CNOR, RNFA*, has been working in the field of Neurosurgery for more than 20 years, and specializing in Movement Disorders and their surgery for more than 15 years. She has been on staff of some of the most progressive neurosurgical centers in the country, including New England Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Huntington Hospital, Pasadena and now Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA, and has been instrumental in creating movement disorder surgery programs at each of them.
•Through Feb. 2006, Roberta was clinical supervisor and head nurse at California Neuroscience Institute, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA. Here she created a unique “perioperative” approach to DBS patient care, where one nurse is assigned to each patient for the whole experience ... before, during, and after surgery. This allows for a high level of communication and bonding between patient and nurse, and results in a greater outcome satisfaction for both.
•In 2005, Roberta was asked to serve as head faculty for the WeMove Virtual Movement Disorders University DBS online forum. Among her other professional credits, she contributes expert advice to online DBS forums at Yahoo Groups (see links to join this group) and provides consulting and training services to DBS centers nationwide.

As of March 2008, Roberta is working as surgical coordinator and DBS programmer for the best DBS program in Southern California! Located at the sparkling new Hycy and Howard Hill Neuroscience Institute at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA, these clinicians together bring the combined experience of caring for thousands of DBS patients, and a unique understanding of the continuum of care necessary to achieve successful outcomes.
